The context of functional collaboration
This clip features part of an introduction Prof. Philip McShane gave on the basic context of functional collaboration for a conference in Vancouver, British Columbia, on July 24, 2014. In order to discourage the kind of abstract atmosphere to which many academic conferences are prone, McShane’s talk was preceded by a tour for conference members of a homeless shelter run by the First United Church in downtown Vancouver. Immediately following the tour, McShane’s talk took place in the chapel of the homeless shelter. First United/Vancouver Downtown Eastside is pastored by the Rev. Sally McShane, Philip McShane’s wife.
